Tech News of the Week in India: HP unveiled its first set of AI PCs in India, which includes the Omen Transcend 14, a compact gaming laptop, and the Envy x360 14, both powered by the Intel Core Ultra processors, and Apple is said to be developing personal robots.

    New AI PCs from HP

    HP has unveiled its latest AI PCs, powered by the Intel Core Ultra processor, while the Omen Transcend 14 comes with an RTX 4060 laptop GPU, the Envy x360 14 is a convertible machine. Both devices offer high-resolution OLED screens and are equipped with technologies like IMAX Enhanced display, and the Envy x360 14 is also one of the first laptops to launch in the country with a dedicated copilot button.

    Apple shifts its focus to personal robots



    After the recent update of Apple scrapping the EV (electric vehicles) project, the company is now said to be focused on making personal robots or home robots, which are likely to be powered by generative AI capabilities. According to a report from Bloomberg, personal robots from Apple could be the next big thing for the company, which will be a part of home automation and could offer features that are currently found on the HomePod, but the robot can follow you, understand motion, and do simpler tasks.

    Sony just announced the availability of its latest PS5 Slim edition in India, which despite being a more compact machine matches the performance of the regular PS5. The Japanese company has also partnered with the quick commerce brand Blinkit, which can now home deliver the brand new PS5 Slim in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai in just 10 minutes.

    Watching videos on Facebook just got upgraded



    Meta has upgraded the built-in video player on the Facebook app for Android and iOS devices, which can now play video in full-screen mode. This enhances the user experience, especially while playing long-form content on smartphones. The update is currently available in markets like the US and Canada, and the same will be rolled out across the globe in the coming days.
